Restylane

Restylane

Restylane is clear, transparent, viscous gel which consists of Hyaluronic acid. Youthful skin is rich in hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid has a vital function in the skin. It binds water and thereby hydrates the skin and keeps it fresh, firm and healthy.  As we age the function and distribution of hyaluronic acid in our skin gradually changes which leads to loss of skin elasticity, leading to the characteristic signs of ageing, eg lines and wrinkles and change in facial shape.

Restylane when injected into the skin replenishes your own natural stocks of hyaluronic acid. It works at a deep dermal level to stimulate the production of collagen and improve skin elasticity, softening the appearance of facial lines and restoring youthful volume and shape to the face.

Aquamid

Aquamid is stable, biologically inactive, pH neutral, insoluble and non-toxic hydrogel used for correction of facial lines and augmentation the lips, cheeks and chin. It is composed of a homogeneous polyacrylamide hydrogel. 97.5% water.

What can Aquamid be used for?

  • Correction of forehead lines, nasolabial folds and the depressed mouth corners
  • Lip augmentation and reshaping
  • Cheek augmentation
  • Chin augmentation
  • Nose correction

AquamidHow soon should we expect to see the results?
The results are immediate.

How long will the effect last?
Aquamid is not resorbable as other fillers.

It becomes an integral tissue part, and is not dissolvable.

Its effect is therefore long-lasting and the treatment is to be repeated every 5-10 years on the average.

Botox

Botox is a natural, purified protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It has been specially prepared to be administered by injection in extremely small doses into the facial muscles to stop wrinkling.

Botulinum toxin acts only upon the isolated muscles into which it is directly injected, so that the function of the surrounding muscles remains preserved. It is most often used to treat the vertical lines between the eyes, tiny wrinkles developed in the outer corners and around the eyes, horizontal forehead lines, lines around the mouth, and lines of the chin and neck area. Excellent results are achieved when injecting botulinum toxin into the underarm to prevent excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).

What does the treatment involve?
Cosmetic denervation of the muscles is a simple and safe procedure that takes about fifteen minutes to complete. Using a tiny needle, a small amount of the toxin is injected with great precision into the target muscles. The associated pain is neglectable, and does not require any anesthesia.

BotoxWhat effects can be expected?
The first effects are visible in a couple of days following the treatment. Patients resume a rejuvenated look. However, the treatment cannot improve wrinkles caused by aging and those caused by sun damage. These wrinkles are not caused by facial muscle contractions.

How effective is the treatment?
The effect of a single treatment lasts for 3-6 months, so the treatments can be repeated 2-3 times a year. The duration of effect varies from patient to patient, especially for those over 65 years of age.

Treatment for excessive sweating

Hyperhidrosis, the medical term used to describe excessive sweating, can cause embarrassing problems that impact the quality of life and interfere with normal daily activities.

The excessive sweating can occur either only in some specific areas of the body, most often in the armpits, in the hands, in the feet or in the forehead (focal hyperhidrosis) or it can involve the entire body (generalized hyperhidrosis). It is estimated that almost 3% of the general population experience hyperhidrosis. Both sexes are equally affected. The condition most often occurs in people aged between 25-60 years. Focal hyperhidrosis is a disorder that occurs in otherwise healthy people, while generalized hyperhidrosis is usually associated with an underlying systemic disease.

Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are used to smooth harsh lines of the face and remove wrinkles. The most commonly used dermal fillers are collagen or hyaluronic based. Fillers are injected beneath the skin to add volume to the skin, and thus create a youthful look.

How many types of filling agents are there?
There are many different types of dermal fillers available on the market, but only a few have demonstrated to be effective as regards predictability and long-lasting results, with minimal swelling and redness after the treatment. Below please find the brand names of dermal fillers used in our Polyclinic. The safety and predictable effects of these products have already been demonstrated.

Restylane and Perlane
Restylane and Perlane are the brand names for stabilized hyaluronic acids. Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide found in the connective tissue of the dermis. In combination with collagen and elastin fibers it gives the skin shape and moisture. Restylane and Perlane are the most popular dermal fillers applied to the face. The results of the treatment remain visible for 6 to 8 months.

Scar correction

Upon examination of a patient who contacts us with a nonesthetic scar problem, we make decision on what we believe will be the best therapy for our client, and this may include either surgical removal or use of special agents for scar correction.

Radiosurgery

Ellman Surgitron Dual RF

Ellman Surgitron Dual RF uses high-frequency radio waves of 4 MHz allowing us to remove the target tissue with great precision and a minimum damage to the surrounding tissue. The radio wave method delivers excellent cosmetic results and an almost invisible scar. Any skin changes on the face and on the body in the form of wart, fibroma, dermatofibroma, hemangioma and mole raised above the skin level, and genital condiloma are candidates for removal using this technique.
Excellent results are also achieved when removing dilated capillaries in the face (telegiectasia). Prior to the procedure, a local anesthetic agent will be applied. Removal is painless, there are no stitches, no bleeding and it takes only a few minutes to complete.
