Since its very establishment, breast diagnostics is one of the Eljuga Polyclinic’s primary activities that has been gaining in significance with the ever increasing incidence of breast cancer. Every eleventh woman in Croatia have a chance of developing the disease. As the exact cause of breast cancer is not known and as it has been ascribed to myriad factors, primary prevention may not enough to control breast cancer. The benefits of early detection has therefore been stressed worldwide. The two most effective and therefore the most often applied diagnostic tools, which we also rely upon, are mammography and breast sonography.
